Cosmetic Services
At Mt. Pleasant Eye Surgeons, we offer a variety of cosmetic procedures.
Non-surgical Radiofrequency Skin Tightening with Reveal Eterna
Radiofrequency (RF) technology is widely used for non-surgical face skin tightening. It works by delivering controlled heat energy into the deeper layers of the skin, stimulating collagen production and tightening loose or sagging skin. The RF energy encourages collagen remodeling, resulting in improved skin elasticity and firmness. The treatment is typically comfortable and requires minimal downtime. Over a series of sessions, RF skin tightening can help reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and laxity, leading to a more youthful and rejuvenated appearance. It is important to consult with a qualified professional to determine if RF treatment is suitable for your specific skin concerns and goals.
Removal of Eyelid Lesions
Various growths, infections, skin tags and cysts can occur on both the upper and lower eye lids. Fortunately, many of these eyelid disorders are not vision-threatening or life-threatening. However, many cause irritative symptoms such as burning, foreign-body sensation, pain or are not cosmetically appealing. Removal of these lesions is an in-office procedure.
Botox and Fillers
Botox®/Juvederm®XC/Juvederm®XC Voluma
Ever feel like your skin just isn’t cooperating? If wrinkles, contours, and droops are gradually altering your appearance, you’re not alone.
It’s why cosmetic and dermal fillers exist.
At Mt. Pleasant Eye Surgeons, we will work within your budget to provide a more youthful, softer, refreshed look. Dr. Legare has training involving injecting botox and fillers around the eyes, forehead, cheeks, lips and facial lines. Often these minimally-invasive procedures can help you look your best without the risks and downtime of invasive surgery.
Botox®
Botox® is an FDA-approved treatment that can help minimize the appearance or formation of wrinkles and crow's feet. Botox® works by temporarily relaxing the facial muscles that cause deep lines and wrinkles, while giving the skin a smoother, younger, more refreshed appearance.
This popular and convenient procedure is performed in a matter of minutes, ensuring optimal results. After treatment, you will see results within 3-7 days that will last up to 4 months. Botox® can be combined with other cosmetic procedures such as Juvéderm for further skin enhancement.
Fillers
Fillers are injectable materials that replace lost collagen and fat to increase volume in particular areas of the face.
JUVÉDERM® XC
Juvederm®XC Injectable Gel is a non-surgical physician administered solution for patients who desire smoothing facial wrinkles and lip augmentation. It is safe and temporary cosmetic dermal filler that is made of a natural substance found in the body, hyaluronic acid, that helps maintain skin volume and hydration. Juvederm®XC creates a fuller, more youthful appearance by restoring volume to the skin. Juvederm® XC Injectable Gel is FDA approved to last up to 1 year and is the first FDA-approved hyaluronic acid filler that is proven to be safe and effective for persons of color- research has shown no increased risk of hyperpigmentation or hypertrophic scarring. The procedure is quick and recovery time is minimal. The results are immediate and to maintain optimal results, “touch up” treatments may be necessary.
JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC
JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC injectable gel is the first and only filler FDA-approved to instantly add volume to the cheek area. It gives you a subtle lift, helping to restore contour and a more youthful profile, for up to 2 years, in patients over the age of 21. It's different than Juvederm® and works on a different area of the face.
JUVÉDERM® XC smoothes out moderate to severe wrinkles and folds around the nose and mouth, like parentheses. JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC, however, adds volume to the cheek area.
The injection itself usually takes approximately 30 minutes. There is minimal recovery time. For the first 24 hours following treatment, you should avoid strenuous exercise, excessive sun or heat exposure, and consumption of alcoholic beverages in order to help minimize risk of temporary redness, swelling, and/or itching at the treatment sites.
Some temporary symptoms, such as redness, pain, firmness, swelling, and bumps, may occur but usually clear up on their own within a week. Any swelling at the injection site can be minimized with an ice pack for a brief period.
